Как ни странно, но этот диск Олфилда я раньше почему-то не слышал. И тут сразу коллекционное издание.
Первое впечатление неоднозначное... Темы менее внятные по сравнению с ранним TB или поздним FMO. Скорее альбом годится как некий приятный фон.
Микс соответствует музыке. Просто инструменты "расставили" по углам и иногда двигают.

Только что из Японии. Прикупил в tower.jp несколько дисков, в том числе этот SACD. Ремастеринг очень неплохой. Чуть не хватает высоких, но терпимо.
С удовольствуем переслушал диск в многоканале. Микс хороший, но не всегда ровный. Иногда действительно близок к стерео, разложенному по 5 колонкам. Итого, 8 баллов.
Насчет музыки - все на высоте, хотя эксперимент с 5-ю композициями 5-ти участников не очень удался. Коллективные песни сильнее. Жаль, что следующего альбома (по-моему, лучшего у Yes) нет в многоканале.
А особенно хотелось бы многоканальную версию Короля Артура.... Somewhere In London was filmed over the final 2 nights of Marillion's Somewhere Else album tour in June 2007.

Directed and edited by Tim Sidwell and mixed by Michael Hunter, the soundtrack is presented in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound.

This new Madfish edition of the dvd is packaged in a deluxe 36 page digibook, with artwork re-designed by Carl Glover. The digi-book features previously unseen pictures.

A second disc contains material which has previously only been available through the band's own website, including the remaining songs played during the 2 nights at the London Forum and exclusive tour rehearsal footage from Marillion's Racket Club studio.

Раз уж при жизни ПФ не успели, то правильно сделали. Лучше поздно, чем никогда.
Концерт требует настроя, это правда. Минорного. Нефиг ждать "вертолётов" и "свиней". Оставим их Уотерсу и его бесконечной "Стенке". Концерт ДГ интимнее, без пафоса и социальщины. Ему ближе чувства посланного в отставку Рика Райта, спевшего о себе в песне "Выворачиваясь наизнанку". Другое всё и каждому своё.
Приятно было увидеть и услышать исполнение старинных песен ПФ (конца 60-ых - начала 70-ых). Кто их лучше споёт, нежели прямые авторы: Гилмор / Райт?
Сольному творчество тоже время уделили. Жаль, не было ничего из первого "ДГ " 1978 года: там масса чудесных инструменталок, на мой взгляд, более структурированных, чем вещи с "Острова".
Одна из последних возможностей увидеть работу Райта. Жирный плюс. О какой скуке вы говорите? Разве это настроение любителя ПФ?
А приглашённые гости? Они не в счёт? Нарезка из житейских сцен. Не забывайте, что наши герои уже немолодые люди...
Да, чуть не забыл: историческая встреча Роджа и Дэйва, запечатлённая в короткий сюжет. Обоим непосебе, да куда деваться-то?
Минус 1 балл звуку на ДВД от абсолюта. Хотя, это вынужденный компромисс за объём носителя.

Да, чувствуется затянутость действа. Эти паузы, рваные куски...
По-настоящему проникнуться в мертвецкую грусть музыки можно лишь перейдя в раздел промо-клипов. Они ВСЕ в таком стиле, как эта ОБЛОЖКА. Будет вам плохо, посмотрите. Станет ещё хуже.

В 2003 выдали апргрейд предыдущих изданий, тянущих свою историю ещё с лазерного диска (смотрев который, я проникся уважением к видео ДС). Купив данный супер-сборник, я своё мнение изменил. Нет, видео на нём осталось всё тем же. Пригляделся внимательнее, что ли. Качество уж сильно разнится: от ОЧЕНЬ хорошо, до посредственно (если не плохо). Например, я не вижу смысла называть видео-клипом вырезку из концертного выступления. Сценарные клипы здесь, порой, весьма просты по сюжету. Но есть шарм начала 80-ых. Анимационное видео получилось хорошо.
К музыке ДС тоже изменилось отношение. Не понимаю восторгов по поводу. Изрядный рок-н-ролл, загруженный однотипными и длинными (порой) импровизами МН. Есть выдающиеся вещи, но не более 2 на альбом. "Всё в одном" содержат "Братья", и его вполне хватит из всего наследия (паче в 5.1).
Об этом издании можно сказать, что сделано оно круто: диджипак на 3 диска. Аудио-составляющая из сборника "бест" и CD-R БОЛВАНКИ (!!!) с записью концертника. Шутливый бутлег. + буклет.
